Marriage Intensive Therapist, Discernment Counselor, Divorce Coach

If you’ve landed on the Divorced Girl Smiling website, there’s a good chance that you are facing divorce, or that you and/or your ex are seriously considering divorce. But if you are having thoughts that there’s a possibility your marriage might be able to be saved, marriage intensive therapy could be for you.

Ann Cerney, MS, LPCC, LCPC has been a therapist for over 20 years, and one of her specialities is marriage intensive therapy: a concentrated, multi-day approach designed to address relationship issues rapidly. The goal of this immersive experience is to help couples make significant progress in a short period of time.

When Ann was telling me about marriage intensive therapy, my first thought was the 2012 movie, “Hope Springs” with Meryl Streep and Tommy Lee Jones. They engaged in marriage intensive therapy. I won’t spoil the ending, but let’s just say, it was good!

I am really excited to welcome Ann as a DGS trusted professional, because I am a big fan of couples staying married, but only if the relationship is healthy and both people are happy, and I love Ann’s passion and commitment to help couples achieve this kind of success. Welcome, Ann!

What people are saying about Ann

“Ann has been an integral part of many successful collaborative divorce teams that I have put together over the last 10 years.

Ann provides guidance as these people go through a difficult time in their lives. When my clients work with her, they report that while they may not have understood at the beginning why a divorce coach was needed, by the end, they clearly see the value. ”
