“Does anyone know a divorce attorney in Alabama?” asked one of the Divorced Girl Smiling trusted professionals at one of our Zoom networking meetings. The divorce coach had a client in Alabama who was interested in switching divorce attorneys. As fate would have it, I connected a few days after that with Alabama divorce attorney, Matt Butts.

A native of Birmingham, Matt became a divorce attorney after serving as a judicial assistant for a well-known, well-respected judge. Matt said he felt very comfortable in a courtroom, and that helping people during such a dark time in their lives felt like a mission he wanted serve. The married father of two explained that his strength is in litigation, but that he has also helped so many clients settle cases via mediation.

About Matt
Matt is a solo practitioner and a Birmingham native who practices primarily in the areas of divorce and family law. While attending Birmingham School of Law, Matt served as a judicial assistant for the Honorable Judge Agnes Chappell where he observed and assisted in countless trials and hearings.
This invaluable experience has helped Matt to become a zealous advocate for his clients both inside and outside the courtroom. Matt enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, listening to good music, and watching college football.
