Vicki Vollweiler, MBA, CDC
College Funding and Financial Aid Expert, CEO, College Financial Prep
When I got divorced, my kids were 3 and 5. Fast forward 12 years later and the 5 year-old started applying to colleges. To say I was clueless is an understatement. I had no idea how we were going to pay for all four years. I was unsure of what the best colleges were for him. I had no clue what a FAFSA was (to this day the most complicated form I’ve ever filled out). And I didn’t know how to answer the question: “How much am I obligated by law to pay and how much is my ex going to contribute?”
How I wish I’d have known Divorce and College Planning Expert, Vicki Vollweiler! Vicki, who works with divorcing and divorced parents all over the country, can help you with everything I stated above, and can also help with college applications and essays, AND loves helping parents and students save money. She can help you with budgeting, scholarship opportunities, and even help you emotionally handle the stress that college brings. I am thrilled to have Vicki as a DGS trusted professional because I know she will help countless parents in the DGS community, as well as their children.

It all started with my own personal story. I was a Financial/Divorce Coach who helped people attain goals, specifically with regards to their personal finances. As clients started to ask me how they were going to afford the cost of college, my own son was approaching high school and I certainly wanted the best for my son!
I knew that I wanted to spend the least amount of money necessary to ensure, both, his success and happiness while allowing me to maintain my bank account and not go into debt. I know that we all want the absolute best for our children, especially, when preparing for college. The key is to be informed, strategic and detail oriented so that you can maximize savings on the cost of college. If you’re unsure how to proceed, don’t potentially lose thousands and thousands of dollars. College Financial Prep was created to guide families through the maze of college financial aid.
